Mandeep Mangat
Academic researcher, multi-disciplinary designer, and aspiring educator
I am based in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, where I am currently completing my Masters of Science within the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University. Overall, I have grown into numerous roles that can be summarized as an academic researcher, multi-disciplinary designer, and aspiring educator. I hope to continue developing in these capacities through a PhD in the near future.
As a Design Researcher, I am interested in applying a posthumanist lens towards design and human-computer-interactions, with my current research exploring the intersection of Buddhist metaphysics and more-than-human-centered design. Previously, my research topics have touched on design ethics, and animal-computer interaction.
As a Design Thinker, my Honours Bachelors in Design Degree, from OCAD University thought me a great deal in design thinking, systems design, user experience research, user interface, and interaction design. Within this role I strongly empathize with users, and think creatively and strategically while designing and implementing solutions.
